How We Create The Piazzas For ThirstyCat Fountains
Our Piazza Design Center Pieces Are Made Completely By Hand From Beginning to End
We begin by throwing the base and neck on the wheel. This gives us the portion that fits over the pump and the base for building the Piazza, whether it is to be a no spout, one spout, two, three, four spout or some other Piazza design.
“Throwing off the mound” we create the cup which will be attached to the top of the thrown stem.
This is done by centering a lump of clay, coning it up and partially segmenting off a portion near the top. This is the piece that becomes the cup portion of the Piazza fountain. If it is to have a spout or two or three or more, they will be built into the cup.
