I purchased a Thirsty Cat fountain because my cat had been experiencing frequent urinary and gastrointestinal issues for nearly a year. After multiple vet visits with various veterinarians entailing an array of tests and exams, all of which caused my cat additional stress, discomfort, and, potentially, pain in some instances, yielding nothing but indefinitive diagnoses, ineffective treatments, and expensive bills, I decided to invest in a cat fountain after a urine sample finally hinted at the possibility that my kitty was somewhat dehydrated, which can cause the types of problems that she had been experiencing and can lead to very serious long-term medical issues. Conducting research into the best, safest, and quietest fountains on the market, I was delighted finally to discover Thirsty Cat Fountains. I was uncertain whether or not my cat would drink from it, but I had to give it a try as it surpassed every other fountain that I had considered, and I am delighted to report that, after a brief, initial few hours of avoiding the unfamiliar new ‘thing’ in the house, my cat began to investigate her Jasper Petunia Enhanced 14-cup fountain, sitting near it and gazing at the falling water with great interest, mesmerized. A few minutes later, she took her first drink from the fountain and has been drinking from it regularly for six weeks now. Although it is too soon to ascertain any long-term result, her urinary and gastrointestinal health has been very good since she began using her fountain, and I am very optimistic that this is the solution that we were seeking. At any rate, she loves her Thirsty Cat Fountain and is well-hydrated again. I keep the water level topped up to 1/8 to 1/4″ below the rim of the basin as this softens the sound of the water falling, creating a more relaxing and soothing effect. The fountain itself is a truly lovely piece of art, in addition to being very well designed and constructed, and it happens to match our decor perfectly! I am grateful to the thoughtful artisans who create these wonderful, artistic pieces for the wellbeing of our beloved feline friends, and for their excellent customer service as well. In a world where the market is flooded with cheaply constructed, over-priced products and shoddy customer care, Thirsty Cat Fountains is a welcome gem. Thank you, from me and my kitty!

I’ve had my Thirsty Cat fountain for five years. I’ve always loved how pretty it is, and the calming water sounds it makes, too. It still works as perfectly as the day I got it, and is still a breeze to clean. My cats aren’t picky about where they drink water from, and will happily drink from the fountain, or a regular water bowl. However, my dog absolutely loves it. The fountain is her preferred water source. I have to clean it a little more often because of this, but I can attest to the filtration system and pump being able to process and withstand even dog levels of backwash. Really great product, I recommend it to everyone.

Last week a freak accident with a cup broke the rim of our Thirsty Cat fountain that was 14 years old. It probably was due to me asking “who would have guessed this bowl and pump would last this long?” as I was cleaning it a few days before.

We loved the fountain for its easy of cleaning and sturdy build. Our two cats and dog all drink from it, the cats love the running water and the dog doesn’t care but happily drinks from it.

Both fountains, old and new are very quiet.

I’m so happy that Thirsty Cats is still making high quality, beautifully glazed ceramic fountains. The new fountain is as wonderful as the older one and I didn’t hesitate about getting another one to replace it.

We have the benefit of living a half hour away from the studio where these fountains are made, so we went to see them in person before making the investment. The owner took us around the studio and explained the process of creating these fountains and shared his story of how it all began. It was a difficult decision to choose just one, they are all so absolutely beautiful! Aside from the beauty, it is so much easier to clean than the cheap, square base, plastic fountain that we had prior to this and our cat loves it! After seeing these in person I can attest that they look exactly as pictured online. Truly the highest quality of cat fountains on the market and made in the USA. We highly recommend!

This fountain is beautifully made, with great attention to detail and function. The makers have provided exhaustive explanations of what kind of fountain works best for your type of kitty. The fountains are little works of art, and my cat drinks from it happily – completely ignores her old water dish now. Chronic low grade dehydration is the cause of many feline ailments, and cats are naturally drawn to running water. I am delighted with my purchase!
