- [Is Your Cat Water Fountain Slimy?](https://thirstycatfountains.com/pet-fountains-of-plastic-generate-slime/): And if you are finding slime in your cat fountain you almost certainly have a plastic cat fountain. The slime comes from your pets’ mouth and tongue which contain bacteria that adhere to the surfaces of vessels they drink and eat from. It may also be airborne, lands in the fountain water and thrives. Thorough cleaning with hot, soapy water will get rid of this biofilm at first but with use plastic fountains become scratched – no matter how careful you are – and cleaning the bacteria from those scratches is in fact, not possible. Unless you use bleach or some other powerful chemical agent, regularly, and scrub thoroughly, the bacteria will build up, creating an unhealthy environment that can cause a number of ailments for your pet and you.

If a defect is evident on receiving the fountain or occurs that was not caused by handling, environmental conditions or general accident we will replace or repair the fountain at our expense.  Not covered are damages caused by dropping or banging or any form of mishandling, breakage due to being filled with too hot and or too cold water or from being left out of doors during winter. With proper care the fountain should last a lifetime and is so warranted.

- [Even The Dog Loves It](https://thirstycatfountains.com/review/even-the-dog-loves-it/): I've had my Thirsty Cat fountain for five years. I've always loved how pretty it is, and the calming water sounds it makes, too. It still works as perfectly as the day I got it, and is still a breeze to clean. My cats aren't picky about where they drink water from, and will happily drink from the fountain, or a regular water bowl. However, my dog absolutely loves it. The fountain is her preferred water source. I have to clean it a little more often because of this, but I can attest to the filtration system and pump being able to process and withstand even dog levels of backwash. Really great product, I recommend it to everyone.

Top quality, very quiet and far superior to the stainless fountain I originally bought (and tossed because of the noise). Seems a bit pricey but definitely worth the money. My cats (originally three, now six) all love it. Even my 12 oz. kitten uses it and the bowl is almost as tall as she is. I had a problem with the feet coming off, but using a little silicon sealant as an adhesive fixed that. I'll be buying another in the near future. NOTE from ThirstyCats. If the bumper feet come off (and they usually do not), we're happy to send you additional at no cost.

Due to my heavy handed scrubbing once per month, the glaze is starting to get thin in some areas, but it's still perfectly functional & beautiful. Our 5 cats prefer the fountain over any other water bowl we've ever provided. As you can see in the photo, one of our cats, 'Milo', especially loves his bubble up drinking fountain! I was ok with it, but it was huge and my one cat was a tiny girl. I had a neighbor with several pets so I gave it to her and got another plastic fountain. FULL of corners, tall, never got it clean. I didn't know what to do. I don't remember how I found this site. And swallowed a few times over the prices. But I ordered a small purple bubble up. My little old lady was attracted to to all the fountains, no problem. And then one day I dropped her food dish right on the fountain! She was sick and soon thereafter was confined to my bed. So I gave her all her water in a dish til I put her down. But I knew I wanted to get another cat and one day. browsing the site I saw a beautiful little fountain. I think it was intended to be an essential oil diffuser. But it had a small, straight-sided bowl that I thought would be hard to break accidently. So I bought it. And when I got my next cat, I already had a fountain for her. She had no problems with it either. I have always given my cats the same filtered water I drink. But I have very hard water and do have a problem with calcium deposits on my fountain. I soak it in vinegar to get them off.

(a testament to it's high quality). Cleaning it is simple & usually takes less than 10 minutes. With human grade ceramic glaze,- I never have to worry that there is any harmful chemicals leaching into my pet's water. (any vet will tell you to avoid using plastic vessels to feed or water your pets) We have 6 cats and this fountain has become a necessity in our home for their health and happiness. All of that said, it's also gorgeous! Guests always comment about how pretty & quiet our running fountain is.

One of my fountains was 10 years old and I needed to replace the pump. I also had the ceramic cord cover and needed to get a new one made to match mine. I sent an email and within one day I had a response. Within two weeks they had custom made a ceramic cord cover and sent me a new pump. Did not charge me for getting a new cord cover. I went to the website and on the FAQ It gives instructions on how to install a new pump with video and it was very helpful. These fountains are amazing. I've never had any problems and the only reason this cord needed to be replaced is because I'd used it so much it started become loose. Thank you so much for a great product and super fast service. I came on this site and see that they have replacements for a very reasonable price but they also offer troubleshooting advice, which shows integrity. This has got to be the best purchase I have made for any animal... ever! I will let you know if the troubleshooting works, but none-the-less this fountain, and the company, deserves 5 stars!

To explain, I beg your indulgence, but I really have to start this story at the very beginning. I got Zen from a TNR rescue that realized this particular cat should never have been put out side, he just was too passive to remain in the feral colony. He looked a bit ragged, but who wouldn’t after spending months around other cat’s bullying. When I got him back home, he took one look around and went to lay with my husband who was very ill at the time. He blended in perfectly, and his devotion to my husband during a difficult time was wonderful to see. Unfortunately, my husband passed away this past December, and Zen and I both went into a spin. I noticed he was off his food and his water intake was dropping. I researched all kinds of remedies, to get kitties to drink more and fountains were at the top of the list. Thirsty Cat Fountains was one of the companies I researched and their reviews were excellent:great workmanship, easy to clean, etc. so I ordered a small fountain, for one cat and it arrived a few days later. And that’s when the music stopped. Instead of my small bubbler fountain, I opened up to a very large, blue fountain,nothing like I ordered. I got back to the company, sent a picture, and asked what happened. They told my it was a mix up and my fountain was on its was to someone in California who probably was not going to be happy when they saw the difference in size. I figured it was lost forever in UPS hell. Since each of these fountains are singular creations, the service team jumped into action to find mine. Call me initially cynical, help desks in a lot of major companies are pits of frustration and despair. Not here. They found my fountain by tracking it thru UPS, redirected it to my house, sent me a label to return the wrong fountain back to them. Got my fountain, it’s just lovely, and I found a company that goes out of their way to provide a very good product, even when it’s on its way somewhere else. My cat, he is loving his fountain….he is totally back to being Zen. Thanks for all your help with this

- [Simply Great](https://thirstycatfountains.com/review/simply-great/): I purchased my ThirstyCat fountain after searching for one that: a) my cat would use; b) was beautiful as well as practical; and c) had fewer parts and was easy to clean. The ceramic fountain checks all the boxes. I took a picture of my cat drinking from it and sent it to my bff, another cat person, who texted "it's beautiful." It is, but more: it's easy to clean. The previous brand, while functional, required removal of a rubber gasket and had a mechanism made up of several plastic parts. Putting it back together after cleaning was a nightmare and replacement filters were costly. My ThirstyCat is simple and to the point. I delight every time I see Whisper drinking from it (she seems delighted, too). Thank you for a well-designed, elegant product priced right with excellent customer support. Bravo!

- [Beautiful Fountains](https://thirstycatfountains.com/review/beautiful-fountains/): I have two ThirstyCat Fountains. I bought the green one when my cat Amethyst was just a kitten, 10 years ago. She thought it was funny to take the water bowl and slide it across the wood floor and watch the water slosh out. I know all cats should have water fountains. So I did my research and looked for a heavy ceramic one that she couldn't slide across the floor. In my research, I found ThirstyCat Fountains. I loved them all immediately. I settled on this green one which matches my living room and dining room. A couple of years later, I bought a yellow one to match my home office. I always use bottled or filtered water. I clean them both every 10 days without fail soaking the bowl and the motor in white vinegar. I have alerts on my calendar so I don't forget! I have never had any lime or hard water build up or deposits, Both look brand new. If I didn't think the sound of the water would keep me awake, I'd get one of the purple ones to match my bedroom. The photo is Amethyst washing her paws in the fountain. I volunteer for a cat rescue and when someone adopts a cat or kitten, I always send them a link to the ThirstyCat Fountain website.

Not only did I find a US based company that strives to make every aspect of their fountains as safe as possible for cats, each one is handmade, unique and extremely beautiful too! I found the information on their website very helpful. I did email a couple of questions that I had and I received a quick response. The fountain I chose was perfectly packaged with care and was shipped quickly. The fountain is even more beautiful in person and the instructions are thorough and easy to follow. I haven’t decided exactly where I am going to keep the fountain yet but as you can see from the picture, one of my cats has already started drinking from it right where it is now. I help save feral cats, do TNR to keep feral colonies down. The area I live is high crime it seems alot of pets are dumped etc. and in Nov. 2021 a female feral(Whitey) I believe brought 3 month old now Tilly to me. Tilly ran to my foot and I could not give her up. It seems Tuxedo cats are definately diffetent and she is very, very testy‍⬛. She tore up Catit fountain after awhile & I wanted USA product. I've had a few other fountains from competitors, but none even come close to the quality and craftsmanship of this one. There's nothing about it I don't like. If you live nearby (or even three hours away), a visit to the studio is absolutely worth your time. It's an outstanding product, an outstanding business, and they're outstanding people. All three of my cats drink from the fountain, but my old lady cat loves it. She refuses to stay in the bedroom overnight, but when I open the door in the morning, she rushes in for a drink. There's plenty of water available elsewhere, but she wants THIS water. Cats are weird, but they deserve nice water fountains like these. Except Rudy. Most days, he does not deserve nice things, but he gets them anyway.

Jackie and Keith went so far above my expectations. I wanted a fountain in pink and they delivered! I expected additional fees as this was a custom request, but nope. I am so happy with everything. The communication, updates, and fountain itself. My two cats love it, and no longer beg at the bathroom or kitchen sinks. They constantly drink water now, and most importantly, had no issue adapting to the new fountain. They even sit and watch the fountain; the sound is so relaxing once you get used to it. I spent days researching different fountains. I did not want a plastic one due to the bacteria it can breed. I decided on a stainless or ceramic one . I went on the hunt for one that was NOT made in China as I was concerned with quality and safety standards and only wanted the best for my cat. This was an almost impossible task!. I was so happy when I came across this site and really liked what I read about the quality and care that goes into these fountains. I was so excited to learn that I could order one even though I live in Canada. Yes these fountains are a little pricy compared to traditional cat fountains, but they are a beautiful piece of artwork that I am proud to display in my home. I find the gentle stream peaceful to listen to. I wasn't sure if my new cat would like a fountain, but decided to take a chance. I am so glad I did. The entire process of buying from Jackie and Keith was fantastic. The communication was excellent, from selecting the fountain I wanted and sending me the tracking number for the delivery so I would know when it arrived. My cat would not go near the cat fountain that I purchased 3 weeks before getting this fountain. He was terrified of the loud noise. I ordered it on November 9 and it was delivered to my home two days later. My cat went right to the water fountain Once we set it up for him. The fountain is beautiful , the service was awesome.
