It has long been my view that we are seriously over-cautious in this country with warnings for just about everything. The slightest indication for potential harm from long term exposure to something yields a no tolerance attitude toward any exposure to that thing, often resulting in an atmosphere of irrational paranoia and the absolute abolishment of that thing altogether, never mind the idea of moderation. (I’m tempted to start listing examples here but will refrain – there are too many).
That said, there are precautions that are useful – indeed – essential to recognize and abide by for the genuine safety of ourselves, and, to our point here, our pets.
