Is A ThirstyCat Fountain
A Thirstycat Fountain is an investment
– in you cats’ health and happiness, in your peace of mind and in the beauty of your environment. The initial cost of a ThirstyCat fountain is considerably more than most but in the long term a ThirstyCat fountain is the most ecomonical cat fountain you can buy.
- With reasonable care a Thirstycat Fountain lasts essentially forever. They don’t fade, wear, colonize bacteria, discolor, become brittle, fall apart or cause any of the other issues that plague most cat fountain brands. They last a lifetime. No others do.
- Our carbon filters have sixty times more carbon than the average commercial fountain and last six months, not three weeks, and our foam pre-filters last as long as a year or more, so you save greatly on filtration costs.
- A ThirstyCat fountain is 100% food safe. Each fountain is made by hand and glazed with in-house glazes. We know what goes into our fountains and we ensure their quality and healthfulness. This helps keep your cat away from the Vet – which saves enormously.
- A ceramic ThirstyCat fountain does not harbor bacteria as do all plastic and most stainless steel fountains, so does not cause chin acne, does not require bleach and hours of cleaning and become repellent to your cats. You save time and trouble.
- Cats love ThirstyCat Fountains. They visit them often, hang out by them and very many cats will let you know their displeasure if you take the fountain away for cleaning and will encourage you to hurry up and put it back.
- And all the while you and your cats are being rewarded with all those benefits you are also enjoying the beauty and satisfaction a work of ceramic art gives, that happens also to be about the best thing you can give to your cats.
- The fact is, cats need high quality fountains and there is no more healthful, longer lasting, easier to clean or more attractive cat fountain on the planet than a ThirstyCat Fountain. Yes, you pay more upfront. But please read below, a few of the testimonials our customers freely left. Like them you’ll realize you made an excellent and economically responsible choice.
I am so impressed with these. The water is so much cleaner, minimal biofilm. I’ve tried them all...even the glacier point. I’m truly happiest with yours. And so are my cats!
Bought my cat fountain from you many years ago (imported to Scotland) and has been used by two cats and currently a puppy still works and looks as good as it did the day it arrived! Well worth the initial cost
Hi Thirsty Cat Fountains Team, I’m not one for sending companies emails; if my time in Customer Service taught me anything, it’s that there’s always too many emails, and not enough time in the day. However, I feel very much compelled to send a BIG thank you. A couple of years ago, I bought a custom cat fountain for my two cats, per a recommendation from my vet. While one of my cats was satisfied with regular water in a bowl, my other cat, Gadget, insisted on drinking from the sink. It was driving me nuts! So my vet recommended Thirsty Cat Fountains. It look me a bit to place my order because these were expensive compared to the other kinds of cat fountains, and Gadget hadn’t liked other fountains before. But let me tell you… this isn’t your regular cat fountain! Gadget is OBSESSED. And I am one grateful cat mom. My cats & I spent a couple of weeks with family; without the Thirsty Cat Fountain. For days, Gadget would sit in the bathroom sink… and cry; nagging me to turn on the faucet. Finally, my dad (more sick of me being sick of turning on the faucet; than he was sick of Gadget’s cries) bought a cheap fountain, and boy did Gadget protest. She would sit by the cheap fountain and still cry (and reluctantly drink), longing for her glorious Thirsty Cat Fountain. We just got home on Saturday, and before I could finish unpacking, Gadget insisted I fill up her fountain. I don’t know what it is about your cat fountains - but she is literally obsessed! So - thank you so much for your craftsmanship and for making this product! My cat, Gizmo, also enjoys the fountain; but not nearing as much as Gadget - here is a picture of her enjoying her Thirsty Cat Fountain, after a few weeks with a much lesser fountain. She says “this fountain is purrrrfect! Thank you!” Happy New Year, and much thanks fur-ever! Kelly, Gadget (pictured) & Gizmo
OMG! So happy I found this site. The fountain is gorgeous , EASY to clean, and is never slimy. So much nicer than the plastic thing I was using and no charcoal in the water. Best design ever. Thank you for a GREAT, beautiful fountain!
I ordered a custom thirsty cat fountain over a year ago and can confidently say it was well worth the investment. I have disabilities that make most daily living tasks difficult, and the plastic fountain I had before this needed to be cleaned almost weekly. And it was a lot of parts and a lot of work. The thirsty cat fountain is the opposite. I clean it every month or so, but mostly just forget about it until I need to refill it. And of course my cats love it. It took them a few months to get used to the new one, but now they both drink from it regularly. My orange cat even likes to sit and just watch the water flow - I think it calms him. I used to worry all the time about the cleanliness of their water but I don't anymore. The one thing I'd recommend is to put that you want a copper add on to your fountain - I didn't realize they were not standard. Thankfully, customer service is amazing and they sent me a copper piece to add into my custom fountain - but it's definitely best to order that initially so it fits correctly. The only con I can think of for this fountain is that sometimes the separate pieces of the ceramic can make a clinking noise - I didn't even perceive it at first but my partner did and noticed my black cat might be avoiding it for that reason. But it just takes a little wiggling to get the pieces in a spot that don't make noise. Overall I highly recommend thirsty cat fountains for the ease they've given to my life and for the health my cat family. A note from Thirstycats. All the bubble-up fountains come with a copper component. The tower type fountains normally do not be we are happy to add one on at your request.
I bought the Blue Daisy fountain less than a month ago and am thrilled I did. Three years ago, my Bandit developed crystals in his urinary tract, which is common in neutered males. The vet recommended a fountain to encourage him to drink, to flush out his digestive system. I bought a plastic fountain, and the first year was great. Subsequent years, not so much. The pumps would become clogged with this black gunk that would stop it from working and dirty up the disposable filter. Replacing the pump would help as a temporary solution, but it would still need frequent cleanings - toward the end of using the fountain I’d have to clean it twice a week, and the inside was still filthy. In the beginning, I purchased a set of brushes to help with cleaning the tiny nooks, crannies and spout which was effective for a while, but eventually I became concerned that the levels of sanitation of the fountain were poor despite my best efforts to maintain cleanliness. Did I mention it took 20-30 minutes to clean the fountain thouroughly? I got fed up and bought a fountain from ThirstyCats upon my vets recommendation, and I couldn’t be gladder I did. The fountain is gorgeous with a capital G. Such exquisite craftsmanship. And easy to clean! After my past experience with the insanitary nature of plastic fountains, I always put the foam filter in the microwave for thirty seconds once weekly. Cleaning is a joy partly because the fountain is so gorgeous but also because it’s far less cumbersome to keep clean. And Bandit is drinking more water than ever before! I highly recommend these fountains, you will not regret it.
Hi Keith & Jackie. FYI all 3 of the gorgeous fountains I purchased in 2014 are still working perfectly 24/7 for our cats & dogs. The fountains haven't chipped, nor ever had a trace of algae or discoloration & are easy to keep clean. The copper spouts are sturdy & just the right size to provide a steady stream, but not splash over the edge of the bowls. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the quality of your fountains; they’ve been continually used by at least 7 cats & 3 dogs during the past 7 years & I think we love them as much as our pets. My sisters ‘borrowed’ one of fountains 6 yrs ago for their dogs & never returned it! (lol). When friends, relatives & even my in-home visiting Vet have seen them, they’ve asked where we purchased & we point them to your website. At first, most people were apprehensive about the cost, but we explain they’re human-grade safe, don’t allow algae or bacteria to grow, sturdy, easy to clean & run 24/7 for years. Before we bought your fountains, we went through at least 4 of the name-brand Platinum plastic fountains & literally spent 2 days a week soaking them in Clorox bleach to remove algae & bacteria; of course, not so with your fountains. Knowing our pets aren’t drinking algae & bacteria alone is worth the price of your fountains & aesthetically, they’re beautiful little pieces of ceramic art in our homes. Thanks for making such great products! Janice
Beautiful, so quiet, so very easy to clean. How I wished I would have gotten one 2 1/2 yrs. ago. No more leaving the faucet on in one bathroom for Blynx. She loves her Thirsty cat fountain, another one to come as soon as I select the colors. If Blynx isn't drinking from it, she lays and watches it, as if guarding, she loves watching it, but more so drinking from it.
At the recommendation of my friend Jules, I purchased my fountain roughly 10 years ago for my kitty Pumpkin cat. She loved the fountain. We lost Pumpkin cat in April. In June we adopted a trapped stray rescue 1 year or so old who while pretty skittish at first Pooki has finally come around to liking the fountain passed down to her. The fountain is easy to clean and maintain and I've never had any issue whatsoever with it. Thank you Keith and Jackie for all your help and for the tips on how to encourage Pooki to use the fountain. I highly recommend Thirsty Cat Fountains to every cat owner I know.
this is my second fountain from ThirstyCat and after owning our first one for a few months, I would definitely recommend these fountains to other cat owners! they're beautiful, durable, and easy to clean - unlike other commercial fountains on the market that are poorly made, get dirty easily, and have overpriced filters that very frequently need changing. my favorite part aside all the positives from this company is the amount of information they provide in the FAQ! I also forgot to mention, my babies love the fountains as well - hydrated kitties makes for happy kitties 🙂
My old plastic cat fountain became stained and wasn't easy to clean, so I needed to find one that wouldn't have these issues. The ThirstyCat raised bubble-up fountain gives my cats the elevated water stream they like, while giving me an easy time cleaning it. It's so simple to rinse the foam filter, there's no little crevices to trap gunk, the glazed ceramic stays cleaner and doesn't stain, and putting it all back together after washing is a breeze. I can tell that this item will last forever and the pump itself can also be replaced easily if needed, so it's a really great investment. I use filtered water for this so don't even need carbon filters. I appreciated the discount due to a small glazing flaw - it doesn't make it any less beautiful to me.
I recently purchased a ThirstyCat fountain as my oldest cat has kidney disease. I am overjoyed to see her drinking more water. All of my cats bypass the rest of the water bowls and use my lovely fountain. They really do love the moving water. After much research, I selected ThirstyCat, and I highly recommend these artisans. The fountain is gorgeous, easy to clean, and will last forever. I plan to buy two more. I also must mention that this a company of perfectionists who truly care about their products. I am very frugal, so when I say that this was money well spent, you can believe the product is wonderful. It is. I highly recommend ThirstyCat Fountains.
I own 4 Thirsty Cat Fountains-several are over 5 years old and appear brand new-and will purchase another soon. They are made of quality materials and entice the felines to drink water more often. Furthermore, they are easy to clean and maintain. TCF customer service is awesome. There are many cat fountains for sale and the majority of them are comprised of cheap, toxic materials. I will always select Thirsty Cat over them all. Myles T.
Excuse my poorly framed picture but the fountain is absolutely gorgeous, it looks more like a centerpiece than a cat fountain. But more importantly my cat loves it, he starting drinking from it right away (and this is a cat who normally refuses to drink from water bowls). Additionally the customer service was phenomenal, I asked for a custom design on my fountain and Jackie emailed me right away to confirm what I wanted and accommodated my request better than I imagined! Overall I would highly recommend this fountain, if you're on the fence about a purchase just know you wont regret it.
